First, it is applied to leak detection

Hydrogen leak detection using hydrogen as a tracer gas is called hydrogen leak detection.

The world's first hydrogen leak detector was developed more than 20 years ago. Today, many customers around the world are using various types of hydrogen leak detectors.

Using low concentrations of safe hydrogen as a leak tracer has many advantages over helium. A new generation of hydrogen leak detector has been developed with more convenient and practical functions.

Breakthrough technology in the field of sealing control

Unique reliability

Hydrogen leak detector is a unique instrument in the field of leak detection and seal control. It can detect leaks as low as 5*10-7mbarl/s. As it is only sensitive to hydrogen, and based on its unique technology in dealing with background hydrogen concentrations in the environment, the hydrogen leak detector has very reliable sensitivity and measurement indication.

Ideal tracer gas

Hydrogen is increasingly used as a tracer gas in various fields. The important reason is that hydrogen is a very cheap tracer gas. The tracer gas that people usually use is a mixture of 5% hydrogen and 95% nitrogen. The tracer gas is a very safe non-combustible gas.

High permeability hydrogen is the lightest gas in the natural world, with low viscosity and high permeability. Therefore, it can penetrate through tiny leakage points while rapidly spreading inside the measured workpiece.

Due to the very fast escape velocity of hydrogen, it is very easy to control the background concentration of hydrogen in the environment to a very small degree without affecting the leak detection.

Hydrogen leak detection requires no pumps or vacuum equipment, so maintenance is simple.

Wider application

You are no longer limited to the bubble method, pressure drop method, helium mass spectrometry and other traditional leak detection methods. You can choose the leak detection method according to your own requirements and budget. Using hydrogen leak detector can bring you more flexible leak detection solution that traditional leak detection cannot meet. For example, you can use the pressure drop method to check if there is a leak, and then use the hydrogen leak detector to find out the leak location. You can also use the hydrogen leak detector for highly sensitive leak detection to avoid the impact of temperature changes on the pressure drop method.

Modern leak detection methods

If the tested workpiece is not suitable for contact with water, or there is the influence of temperature in the testing environment, or the tested workpiece is elastomer and therefore cannot be tested by blister method and pressure drop method, the hydrogen leak detection method is a cost-effective choice.

Using a hydrogen leak detector minimizes interference with background hydrogen concentrations in the environment. This is partly because hydrogen diffuses faster than other gases, and partly because of the dynamic hydrogen background concentration compensation feature.

It is a pure electronic instrument, without pumps, valves and other maintenance parts, so no more maintenance and maintenance is required. If the probe is damaged, the operator can replace it within minutes.

Small and sturdy, easy to move. This is especially true for large objects such as aircraft. For service engineers, it can be conveniently carried in a suitable bag.

It's very convenient to operate. Turn on the power and warm up for a minute, then it can be used normally. If you need to change the original Settings, you can change the operation through the menu displayed on the LCD panel.

Can work normally in bad environment. Standard H50 probes do not inhale gas, so there is no need to worry about dust. The probe has a protective cover at the top and can be used on wet workpieces.

With sensitivity automatic adjustment function. At the same time, its external RS232 interface can be easily connected with PC or PLC.

Based on modern digital technology, you only need to push a button to debug or verify. It can be calibrated using a calibration leak or standard gas.

On the tracer gas

Pure hydrogen cannot be used as a tracer gas because of its inflammable and explosive properties. The mixture of 5% hydrogen and 95% nitrogen is non-flammable (ISO10156), non-toxic and corrosive, and will not adversely affect equipment and environmental products. The gas is also cheap and is produced by many domestic gas suppliers. Therefore, it is very suitable for use as tracer gas. Sometimes gas suppliers give the mixture a different name.
